Catherine Frot, born on May 1, 1956 in Paris, France, is a renowned French actress known for her comic talent and extensive theater background. She is a ten-time César Award nominee, winning Best Actress for 'Marguerite' (2015) and Best Supporting Actress for 'Family Resemblances' (1996). Frot's notable film roles include 'Le Dîner de Cons' (1998), 'La Dilettante' (1999), and 'Haute Cuisine' (2012). She began her acting career at the Festival d'Avignon in 1975 with the Compagnie du Chapeau Rouge, followed by roles in classical plays like 'Les Liaisons dangereuses' (1987), 'La Cerisaie' (1982) directed by Peter Brook, and 'La Mouette' (1985). Frot is an officer of the Ordre national du Mérite.
