Jean Harlow (1911-1937), known as the 'Blonde Bombshell' and the 'Platinum Blonde', was an American actress who rose to prominence in the early 1930s. She was renowned for her portrayal of 'bad girl' characters and became one of the defining figures of Hollywood's pre-Code era. Despite having a career spanning only nine years, Harlow consistently ranked as one of the strongest box office draws, surpassing even MGM's top leading ladies like Greta Garbo, Joan Crawford, and Norma Shearer.
