Jeramie Rain, born Susan Davis on August 23, 1948, began her career with stage productions in Charleston before moving to New York City in the early 1970s. She appeared in several commercials and films like 'The Abductors' (1972) and gained recognition for roles in Wes Craven's 'The Last House on the Left' (1972) as Sadie, and 'Preacherman Meets Widderwoman' (1973) as Willie Mae. Rain also had supporting roles in soap operas like 'The Doctors' (1972–77). She quit acting in the mid-1970s to pursue writing and producing for NBC and CBS. At age 28, she was diagnosed with systemic lupus and became a philanthropist advocating for the disease's awareness.
