Karolína Kurková, born February 28, 1984, in Děčín, Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic), is a prominent Czech model and actress known for her work as a former Victoria's Secret Angel. She has been praised for her proportions by Mario Testino and was described as the 'next supermodel' by Anna Wintour. Kurková, who is the daughter of a Czech basketball player, began her modeling career at age 15 when she was sent photos to an agency in Prague. Despite initial teasing about her height, she landed runway appearances and commercial and print advertising gigs. She later moved to Milan to gain more experience and signed a contract with Miuccia Prada.
