Nia Roberts' acting career began with her breakthrough role in 'Solomon and Gaenor' (1999), a film featuring dialogue in Welsh and Yiddish, which won Best Film at the Verona Film Festival and was Oscar-nominated for Best Foreign Language Film. She has since appeared in various Welsh-language films like 'Fondue', 'Rhyw a Deinosors!', and TV shows such as 'Pobol y Cwm'. Roberts has also worked in English-language productions, including 'Dr. Terrible's House of Horrible' and 'Border Café'. Notably, she starred in two films directed by her husband, Marc Evans: 'Snow Cake' (2006) and 'Patagonia' (2009). Additionally, Roberts had a role in the hospital drama 'Crash!' and appeared in episodes of 'Doctor Who' and 'Y Gwyll/Hinterland'. Her character in 'Solomon and Gaenor', a young Jew in 1911 Wales, faced anti-Semitic riots leading to their separation.
