Trama
Séverine Serizy (Catherine Deneuve), a beautiful young woman married to Dr. Pierre Serizy, struggles with her masochistic fantasies that she cannot reconcile with her everyday life. She remains chaste in her marriage despite loving her husband dearly. Séverine's friend Henri tells her about Madame Anais' high-class brothel, and intrigued by the idea of a double life, Séverine begins working there during the days under the name Belle de jour.
