In Bubba Ho-tep, we follow Elvis Presley's fate after his supposed death. We find him living as an elderly resident in an East Texas rest home under the alias Sebastian Haff. Years ago, he switched identities with an Elvis impersonator but missed his chance to switch back. Meanwhile, another surprising resident at the home is a wheelchair-bound John F. Kennedy, who has been alive and aging slowly since his assassination. Their peaceful retirement is disrupted when a soul-stealing ancient Egyptian mummy, known as Bubba Ho-tep, begins preying on the residents. Elvis, now using a walker, and JFK must join forces to combat this supernatural threat and protect their fellow residents.
Bubba Ho-tep is an eccentric horror-comedy directed by Don Coscarelli in 2002. Based on Joe R. Lansdale's short story of the same name, the film presents a unique and entertaining theory about what happened to Elvis Presley and JFK after their respective events. The movie blends elements of comedy, drama, mystery, and horror, with a central plot revolving around these two iconic figures teaming up to battle an ancient Egyptian mummy in an East Texas rest home.
