Claude, a young man from Oklahoma, receives his draft notice and heads to New York City. Along the way, he befriends a group of hippies led by Berger. Claude falls in love with Sheila, a girl from a wealthy family who joins their commune. The group lives freely, engaging in skinny-dipping, free love, and anti-establishment activities. However, their idyllic lifestyle is disrupted when Claude must report for military service in the Vietnam War.
Based on the cult Broadway musical of the '60s, "Hair" (1979) directed by Miloš Forman is a vibrant and provocative film set against the backdrop of the hippie movement in New York City during the Vietnam War era. The movie explores themes of free love, communal living, anti-war sentiment, and rebellion against societal norms. It features music and lyrics from the original Broadway production, capturing the spirit of the time.
