Trama
In 18th-century France, the painter Marianne (Noémie Merlant) is commissioned to paint a wedding portrait of Héloïse (Adèle Haenel) without her knowledge. To accomplish this, Marianne observes Héloïse by day and paints her at night in her studio. Over time, the two women develop a deep connection as they spend more time together. Héloïse, who is about to be married off against her will, finds solace and liberation in their encounter. As Marianne completes the portrait, she becomes increasingly attached to Héloïse, leading to a passionate encounter between them before Héloïse's impending wedding.
