Trama
Anna and Ben, an American couple living in rural Chile during the early 1970s, find themselves drawn into political turmoil following President Salvador Allende's overthrow in 1973. When Ben is stranded in Santiago on the eve of the military takeover, Anna becomes increasingly isolated. Their friends Eva and Monica are affected by the coup; Eva, who was formerly the personal assistant to Allende's wife, is arrested and sexually assaulted before being released. She continues to be harassed by Raoul, one of her arresting officers, despite his guise as a protector. Meanwhile, Anna starts an affair with Paul, a Canadian journalist investigating the coup. The couple decides to help Eva escape over the walls of a convent to safety at an embassy.
