Storia
During the New York City blackout of 2003, Kate, a troubled model in her thirties, moves into her girlfriend Leah's Brooklyn loft. As doubts about their relationship start to surface, Leah leaves for the weekend, leaving Kate alone in the apartment. As darkness falls over the city due to the power outage, Kate becomes increasingly paranoid and believes someone is stalking her within the building. Isolated and with no means of escape, Kate must confront her deepest fears as she fights to survive through the night.
Riassunto
Directed by Nick Basile in 2015, 'Dark' (not to be confused with the German Netflix series) is a psychological thriller that blends elements of drama and horror. Set against the backdrop of the historic New York City blackout of 2003, the film explores themes of paranoia, isolation, and relationship turmoil through its protagonist Kate, played by Anika Noni Rose. With limited resources available about the movie's themes or significance beyond its narrative, this summary focuses primarily on the plot events as provided.
