Trama
The movie 'La captive' begins with Ariane and Simon meeting by the water. Simon becomes possessive of Ariane, separating her from her friends and confining her to his home with a room at the end of the hall and her own bathroom next door. He hires Andrée, one of Ariane's former friends, to watch over Ariane and report back to him about her actions. Andrée becomes an accomplice to Ariane, lying for her and potentially engaging in sexual relations together when the mood arises.

Riepilogo
Directed by Chantal Akerman in 2000, 'La captive' is a Belgian-French drama that serves as an adaptation of Marcel Proust's 'La Prisonnière,' the fifth volume of his novel 'À la recherche du temps perdu.' Set in Paris, France, the film explores themes of obsessive love, paranoia, and self-destruction. While specific plot details are limited in the provided sources, it is clear that the movie revolves around a dysfunctional love triangle between Ariane, Simon, and Andrée.
