Storia
Joe and Isabel, a couple on the brink of separation, arrive at their holiday villa in Greece with their teenage daughter Nina. While exploring the villa, they find Kitti, a naked woman floating in the pool. Instead of being alarmed or offended, Isabel invites Kitti to stay with them. Kitti is an enigmatic stranger who collects and eats poisonous plants, and she immediately captivates Nina. As the family dynamics begin to shift with Kitti's arrival, Isabel hopes that her presence will somehow provide relief for their troubled marriage.
Riassunto
‘Swimming Home’ is a unique blend of drama and comedy directed by Justin Anderson in 2024. Based on Deborah Levy's cult novel of the same name, the film explores themes of love, loss, and longing through the lens of an unconventional family holiday in Greece. When Isabel invites Kitti, a naked stranger found floating in their villa's pool, to join them, their lives take an unexpected turn. The film is notable for its black comedy elements and surrealistic moments, as well as its exploration of family relationships and the dynamics between men and women.
