"Among captivating actresses from Denmark, Brigitte Nielsen, Connie Nielsen, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen, Sidse Babett Knudsen, and Iben Hjejle have certainly left their mark. However, Annie Birgit Garde stands out as a pioneer of Danish cinema who has been enchanting audiences since 1953 with her sensual presence in over three dozen films. While many of these titles may pose a challenge to pronounce, they nonetheless leave viewers spellbound.
Garde's notable appearances include 'Ung kærlighed' (1958), 'Soldaterkammerater rykker ud' (1959), and 'Der må være en sengekant!' (1975) in cinema, alongside TV movies such as 'Ægteskab' (1958), 'Valsedrømme' (1967), and 'Hjemmet' (1969). One particularly provocative film is the racy comedy-drama 'Tandlæge på sengekanten' (1971), also known as 'Bedside Dentist,' where Garde's nude scenes are sure to leave audiences with lingering memories.
Though best remembered for comedic roles in films like 'Charles’ Aunt' (1959) and sci-fi adventures such as 'Journey to the Seventh Planet' (1962), Ms. Garde's most notorious performance remains her debut nude scene in 'Mazurka på sengekanten' (1970).
